Instagram Privacy Settings, You Must Use

   Instagram is a social media photo sharing application. It was released in 2010, now it is available in 25 languages. Instagram also comes in the category of Social Networking website, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc. Every social network site has a different way of working as we can share video on YouTube, as we can share photos on Instagram as well. At the same time, we can also share the video of 1-2 minutes on this. To join someone on Instagram, you have to follow him. Instagram Privacy Settings

1.   Private Account
This is very important privacy setting. By default, anyone can view your profile and posts on Instagram. You can make your posts private so that only followers you approve can see them. If your posts are set to private, only your approved followers will see them on hashtag or location pages. To set your posts to private from the Instagram app –

(1)-    Tap on  to go to your profile, then tap .

(2)-   Then Tap on Settings & go to Privacy and security section.

(3)-   Click on Account privacy and choose on or off in Private account option.

2.   Activity Status

With the help of this feature, your friends can see if you are still active on instagram and if you are not active then this feature will show your last active time on the instagram. In the same way, you can also see the active status of your friends on instagram. In this feature your active now status and last active status will show only in Direct Message. Your active now status and last active status can only be seen to those with whom you have done chatting, follow or you have recently tagged on any story. If you don’t want that your active now status and last active status will be shown to anyone then you can off it by going in privacy setting. For this setting –

(1)-    Tap on  to go to your profile, then tap .

(2)-   Then Tap on Settings & go to Privacy and security section.

(3)-   Click on Activity Status and choose on or off in Show activity status option.

3.   Story Controls

By default, anyone who can see your story can reply to it directly with a message. When you prevent someone from replying, they won’t see that option from within your story. To control who’s able to reply to your story, the visibility of your story depends on your account’s privacy setting. For private accounts, Only your approved followers can see your story. For public accounts, anyone on instagram can see your story.

(1)-    Tap on  to go to your profile, then tap .

(2)-   Then Tap on Settings & go to Privacy and security section.

(3)-   Click on Story Controls and sellect any one option what you want in Allow message replies option.

 

4.  Comment Control

Comments that may be inappropriate, offensive or bullying are automatically filtered out from your posts and live videos. Comments are filtered automatically by default, but you can always change this setting.

(1)-    Tap on  to go to your profile, then tap .

(2)-   Then Tap on Settings & go to Privacy and security section.

(3)-   Tap on Comment Controls.

(4)-   Make sure that Hide Offensive Comments is turned on.

(5)-   Tap next to Manual Filter to turn it on.

(6)-   Tap next to Filter most reported words to turn it on.

When you turn on comment filtering, it’s applied to both new and existing comments on your posts. When you turn off comment filtering, filtered comments on your posts will be restored.

5.   Photos and Videos of you

When other people tag you in photos or videos, they may show up on your profile. To see photos and videos you’ve been tagged in, go to your profile and tap . Who can see these on your profile depends on your visibility settings. You can hide photos and videos you’re tagged in from your profile or remove the tag if you don’t want anyone to see them. You can also choose to manually approve photos and videos you’re tagged in before they appear on your profile. You can choose whether photos and videos you’re tagged in appear on your profile automatically or manually. When you choose to add photos and videos manually, they’ll appear on your profile only after you approve them. By default, when someone tags a photo or video of you, it will automatically be added to your profile.

(1)-    Tap on  to go to your profile, then tap .

(2)-   Then Tap on Settings & go to Privacy and security section.

(3)-   Then Tap on Photos and videos of you section.

(4)-   Choose visibility settings Automatically or Manually.
